Decorative lighting – ceramic lamps

Is every lamp, which illuminates, a decorative one?
Is illumination of the darkness the only function of the lamp? If your answer is yes do not waste your time and stop reading this post.
As the importer of decorative articles, for a long time we were looking for attractive lamps, which design and applied materials were different from what everybody could find in most of lighting stores. Partially the step in this direction were the wooden lamps with unusual bodies made of mango wood from Thailand, a country with rich traditions in handicrafts. Unfortunately, relatively dry air in our apartments with central heating did not serve well the corps of the lamps and sometimes they were losing their decorative values.
Therefore, we have introduced exceptional lamps, with bodies produced from ceramic components. And here we return to the most important, in our opinion, function of the lamp – decorative function. There is only a little problem with this definition because almost every salesman advertises his lamps as decorative ones. What about the lamps with nickel or chrome rod supporting colored, cheap polyester lampshade with hanging “jewels” out of ordinary glass. Can they be classified as a decorative lamps? What’s your opinion? What features should a lamp have so it could be qualified as decorative one? Difficult question? Look at the pictures of few table and bedroom lamps below. Do they have the features of decorative lamps?
